Covid-19 Update from Angela Clancy

An update on the 2020 Summer Institute: Creating the Future, Partnerships for Inclusive Learning

April 20, 2020

Considering the ongoing public health concerns surrounding COVID-19, and in response to the directive by Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s Provincial Medical Health Officer, we’ve made the decision to postpone Creating the Future, Partnerships for Inclusive Learning 2020, until August 23-25, 2021.

Every two years, we look forward to facilitating strategic approaches to inclusion and belonging for all students in B.C.’s elementary and secondary schools. Bringing together administrators, teachers, parents, paraprofessionals, therapists, and other members of school-based teams together to network, learn, and create new and innovative approaches to teaching and providing good outcomes for everyone. But nothing is more important than the health and safety of our team members, partners, attendees, vendors, and community.

The COVID-19 situation continues to evolve rapidly here in British Columbia and Canada, and we believe that everyone, including us, has a role to play in the collective response.

We are honoured that most the speakers are available to commit to present in 2021. They have been fantastic in reorganizing their schedules to make Creating the Future, Partnerships for Inclusive Learning conference a priority in their calendars. We will keep you updated on the website as the last few speaker spots are filled.

All participants who have purchased registrations can either defer their registration for the 2021 Summer Institute Conference and hold their priority spot for this highly sought-after event or can receive a full refund. Please indicate via email to summerinstitute@fsibc.com your preference.  If you choose to receive a refund and do not receive it by May 31st. Please contact us at summerinstitute@fsibc.com or (6O4) 54O-8374.

Stay safe until we meet again.

Kind regards,

Angela Clancy,
