Sue Sterling-Bur

Sue Sterling-Bur is from the Nłeʔkepmx and Stó:lō Nations and currently serves as the Manager, Strategy and Operations, Indigenous Initiatives at UBC Okanagan. She holds an Early Childhood Diploma and a Master’s Degree in Social Work and is a Ph.D. candidate (All But Dissertation) at UBC Okanagan. Her doctoral research focuses on Indigenous perspectives on education and support for children with differences and disabilities, drawing from the rich narratives of Nłeʔkepmx Sptékʷł and Spíləx̣m. Through her work, Sue aims to uncover the ethical frameworks, values, and traditional knowledge that inform effective approaches to supporting Indigenous individuals with disabilities.
